LYRICS

I walked all morning to lift my heart
cause the world keeps dancing with the paper man
I love you never talk in dreams
I always hear your happiness is real
oh make some big jumps, big jumps you afraid to break some bones
come on make some big jumps, big jumps life is your saulte
you hold your head up, your head up high like you think I do

sometimes I feel so confused
I'm under the illusion that i have to choose
I love you always know the way
the way back home always is the same
oh make some big jumps, big jumps you afraid to break some bones
come on make some big jumps, big jumps life is your saulte
you hold your head up, your head up high like you think i do

tick tock, this clockwork will stop
you're the key for winding up my heart
brick, brack if you don't wind me up
this guy will lie upon me lke a passed out drunk
without you i will never rise again, without you i will never rise..

hey there, sunshine in my heart
I know life is long but it goes so fast
I love you never feeling old
you never bought the rubbish that they sold

oh make some big jumps, big jumps you afraid to break some bones
come on make some big jumps, big jumps life is your saulte
you hold your head up, your head up high like you think I do

oh do some big jumps, big jumps you afraid to break some bones
come on make some big jumps, big jumps life is your saulte
you hold your head up, your head up high like you think I do

ALISON MOYET: SHOULD I FEEL THAT IT'S OVER.

I think we've all survived the eighties remember ALISON MOYET for her role in the duo Yazoo and subsequent solo career. In 2002, She reappeared with a little masterpiece called "Hometime, " an album that confirm to Moyet as one of the great voices of British pop. We have chosen SHOULD I FEEL THAT IT'S OVER one of the most beautiful songs of the album. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

Could you wake me up when it's over
Well maybe I'll sit this out, I think I know the score
You read to me before
Why wrap it up so precisely
I know what you're bringing me, I keep them on the side
With gone and nevermore

Should I feel that it's over, all over
And are you here when I hold you, I wonder

You wanted days to remember
September without the fall, a house without a wall
A given in surprise
I never match you for missing
And you call this kissing , I feel closer to the sky
You never ask me why

Should I feel that it's over, all over
(Dry your eyes, outside vermillion skies eases the lies
Loose the ties that keep you under)
And are you here when I hold you, I wonder
(And I realise, when the sun is in your eyes it's no wonder)

JÓNSI: BOY LILIKOI.

I always thought that Sigur Ros are pedantic and pretentious. But "GO" (2010) the solo album debut of JONSI, singing in English and not in this language invented that insults our intelligence, has great moments like this BOY LILIKOI. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

I want to be a lilikoi boy lilikoi
You grind your claws, you howl growl
Unafraid of all colour
You run, you're free, you climb and dress trees
You reignite
You growl, you howl, you show your teeth
You bite, it's alright

Say no more, use your eyes
The world goes and flutters by
Use your eyes, you'll know you are
Use your eyes, the world goes and flutters by
Use your eyes, you'll know you are

Why me, my boy, you burn so bright
Do you illuminate?
One day you're out, you give up the fight
You slow down heart-rate

We all grow old, use your life
The world goes and flutters by
Use your life, you'll know you are
Use your life, the world goes and flutters by
Use your life, you'll know you are

Electricity wires are down
Rainbow colours fade into brown
I dreamt you were smiling, shifting for good
Courageous boy, now you are gone
And run past the years, no place to go
Your spirit is grand, so life goes on
You are

I want to be a lilikoi-boy ooooh
You grind your claws, you howl, you growl
Unafraid of all colour

Electricity wires are down
Rainbow colours fade into brown
I dreamt you were smiling, shifting for good
Courageous boy, now you are gone
You run past the years, no place to go
Your spirit is grand, so life goes on
You are ..
You are ..

SHELBY LYNNE is probably the best American songwriter of her generation. Album after album always surprises us with genuine gems. Today we chose ALIBI from her eleventh and final album "Tears, Lies and Alibis" (2010). A beautiful slow song in which Shelby Lynne gets once again make it easy The difficult. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

I know that look in your eyes
I've seen it before
Think I'd be used of it now
But I beg for more
I know you've been staying out late
I hear you when you come in
I pretend to be sleeping
So we don't have to act like friends

My nights are not the only lonely time
Mornings trashed me and the birds
I cry and look out the window
And I just can't wait to hear your alibi

I know I don't know what
But I bet she looks good
She probably has a fancy job
And works in the office like you
I'm sure she doesn't have the time to think about

Who you're married to
Poor girl sure it's hard enough
To concentrate on you

All starch white shirt perfectly clear house
You never noticed it anyhow
But she gets through draggin you by
Looking for shoulders save way to cry
But I'm over here baby
Look in my
cause this is the last time
I listen to your
Alibi

VETUSTA MORLA: COPENHAGE.

VETUSTA MORLA is a Spanish indie band that surprised all and sundry with their debut album "Otro día en el Mundo" (2008). This album was described by critics as "The best debut album of a group in the history of Spanish rock". We chose COPENHAGUE a beautiful love song very subtle. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

Dejarse llevar suena demasiado bien
Jugar al azar
Nunca saber donde puedes terminar o empezar

Un instante mientaras los turistas se van
Un tren de madrugada consiguio
trazar la frontera entre siempre o jamas

Llueve en el canal la corriente
enseña el camino hacia el mar
Todos duermen ya
Dejarse llevar suena demasido bien
Jugar al azar
Nunca saber donde puedes terminar o empezar
o empezar

Ella duerme tras el vendabal
se quito la ropa sueña con despertar
en otro tiempo y en otra ciudad
Dejarse llevar
Suena demasiado bien
Jugar al azar nunca saber
donde puedes terminar o empezar
terminar o empezar
terminar o empezar

DAVID GRAY: SAIL AWAY.

"White Ladder" (1998) is the album of my life and DAVID GRAY one of my favorites singer-songwriters. I think I was taking too long to include a song from this great album in this blog. I would include all songs of the album, because it is a master piece. But today I would like remember SAIL AWAY because is simply wonderful. Hope you like

Now a Live Version:

LYRICS

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now

Crazy skies all wild above me now
Winter howling at my face
And everything I held so dear
Disappeared without a trace
Oh all the times I've tasted love
Never knew quite what I had
Little Darling if you hear me now
Never needed you so bad
Spinning round inside my head

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now

I've been talking drunken gibberish
Falling in and out of bars
Trying to get some explanation here
For the way some people are
How did it ever come so far

Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now
Sail away with me honey
I put my heart in your hands
Sail away with me honey now, now, now
Sail away with me
What will be will be
I wanna hold you now

[Repeat chorus]

LAURA VEIRS: GALAXIES.

One of my favorite albums of recent history of music is "Year of Meteors" (2005) by LAURA VEIRS. One of the songs more complacent to the public who can not appreciate her art is GALAXIES. I think it's a song That you might like to everybody. Although the universe of this singer-songwriter is far more complex. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

When you sing, when you sing
The stars fill up my eyes
Galaxies pour down my cheeks
Galaxies…they flood the street
Galaxies

When we dance, when we dance
Eels and sea grass float on by
I’m 10,000 leagues beneath the sea
10,000 leagues…beneath the green
10,000 leagues

When we kiss, when we kiss
Bears and boulders vibrate through the air
Gravity is dead you see
No gravity…all I need is beating red
No gravity…

LA CASA AZUL: LA REVOLUCIÓN SEXUAL

Spain will never win an Eurovision Festival if The Spanish Organization continues proposing and sending old-fashioned songs and tacky singers. This song is the story of redemption that never happened. The song that we must always send to Eurovision to show that in Spain we are very modern and the image of the bull and the flamenco dancer is very outdated. This is LA CASA AZUL and LA REVOLUCIÓN SEXUAL (2007). One of the proposals of the genius called Gille Milkyway, and the Spanish best option to Eurovision in the last twenty years.

LYRICS

Dímelo ya, necesitas descansar. Ahora

Ahora

FLORENCE + THE MACHINE: DOG DAYS ARE OVER.

One of the big surprises of "Lungs" (2009) The debut album FLORENCE + THE MACHINE was undoubtedly DOG DAYS ARE OVER one of those songs that over time have become an immortal classic, an hymn. Today I want to remember it because is one of those songs that give you strength to overcome adversity. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

Happiness, hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her, stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with a drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming so you better run

Run fast for your mother run fast for your father
Run for your children for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind you
Can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses
Cuz here they come

And I never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had
And what was left after that too. oh.

Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back
Struck from a great height
By someone who should know better than that

The dog days are over
The dog days are gone
Can you hear the horses
Cuz here they come

Run fast for your mother and fast for your father
Run for your children for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your loving behind you
Can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are gone
Can you hear the horses because here they come

The dog days are over
The dog days are gone
Can you hear the horses because here they come

JOHN GRANT: SIGOURNEY WEAVER.

One of the great surprises of last year was "Queen Of Denmark" (2010). Claimed by the critics, debut solo album of JOHN GRANT. He was the vocalist of The Czars in the past, without great success. But he finally had critical acclaim, and  "Queen of Denmark" was proclaimed as one of the best albums of 2010. And we completely agree with that decision because it is an album that hooks you. And you need to hear again and again, despite having a rather archaic production brings us back to the seventies and is reminiscent of Al Stewart and Cat Stevens. His tortured personal life has been the greatest source of inspiration for this great album from which we offer SIGOURNEY WEAVER one of his songs more ironic. You can listen it in a acoustic session and  the album version. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

When I woke up today, the air was very strange
I couldn't feel my skin and there was evil in my bones
I tried to speak but found that I didn't have a voice
It was a prison like the one you would find in the twilight zone

And I feel just like Sigourney Weaver
When she had to kill those aliens
And one guy tried to get them back to the earth
And she couldn't believe her ears

So I was taken or I went towards what was west
Where the ground was dead and struvk out at the giant sky
The sky was black and filled with tiny silver holes
And it was there with the frightened voice that I began to cry out loud

I feel just like Winona Ryder
In that movie about vampires
And she couldn't get that accent right
Neither could that other guy

And I feel just like I am on Jupiter
One man looks like rainbows, sure
But it doesn't lend itself to life
And I haven't finished yet

LYRICS

Tell me what it is, it isn’t fair
but I’m wasting time, cos it isn’t my heart, it isn’t my fault
and every situation understands, well
the anecdote of chasing the locations to your doors
’cos I’m wasting time, I’m wasting money again
and all the cigarettes that I have never smoked
and all the letters that I have never sent

He was sitting by the swimming pool
but he was scared, ’cos it wasn’t his time and it wasn’t his chance
getting older’s not been on my plans
but it’s never late, it’s never late enough for me to stay
’cos I’m wasting time, I’m wasting money again
and all the cigarettes that I have never smoked
and all the letters that I have never sent

A FINE FRENZY: HAPPIER.

Behind A FINE FRENZY hides Alison sudol, an american singer-songwriter and pianist. Alison has recorded two albums to date, earning a big recognition with her debut album.
We have chosen HAPPIER of their second album "Bomb in a Birdcage" (2009). A song that highlights the beautiful voice of Sudol. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

Quick kid quick, so harsh and cynical
Touches stricken, cold and clinical
What a transformation to behold
But i don't like this new, i want the old

It's not the words that make it final
You've said such things such things before to rival them
But it's how you say 'em now that's changed
Cold but sympathetic all the same

Lie to convince me that i'll be better off
Oh, you go on and i'll be happier, i'll be happier
You go on, yeah, you go on
You'll be gone and i'll be happier

Shoot me with your rubber bullets
Your finger's on the trigger, pull it
I know you want this suffering to end
So it is forgivable my friend

It's all to convince me that i'll be better off
So you go on and i'll be happier,
You go on and i'll be happier
You go on, yeah, you go on
You'll be gone and i'll be happier

Bo-bo-ba-do-bo
Bo-bo-ba-do-bo-da-da-da

Say what you mean, what you mean
Cause you'll be happier without me, without me, without me, oh

You won't convince me, that i'll be better off
So you go on and i'll be happier, i'll be happier
You go on, you go
You'll be gone, and i'll be gone
You go on and i'll be happier, you go on and i'll be happier
You go on, you go on, you go on and i'll go on and i'll be happier
You on and i'll be happier, you go on and i'll be happier

You go on, and i'll be happier

PATTY GRIFFIN: RAIN.

PATTY GRIFFIN is an American Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter and musician. She released her first album in 1996 and has published seven more to date. We could talk to about her as a folk singer or alternative country. Today I select RAIN, but from where I am there is a splendid sun, a beautiful song taken from their 2002 album "1000 Kisses". Evocative song that makes you reflect on life.

LYRICS

It's hard to listen to a hard hard heart
Beating close to mine
Pounding up against the stone and steel
Walls that I won't climb
Sometimes a hurt is so deep deep deep
You think that you're gonna drown
Sometimes all I can do is weep weep weep
With all this rain falling down

Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain

Its hard to know when to give up the fight
Two things you want will just never be right
Its never rained like it has to night before
Now I don't wanna beg you baby
For something maybe you could never give
I'm not looking for the rest of your life
I just want another chance to live

Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain

Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I'm holding on underneath this shroud
Rain

Strange how hard it rains now
Rows and rows of big dark clouds
When I'm still alive underneath this shroud
Rain Rain Rain

CHANTAL KREVIAZUK is one of the great Canadian singer-songwriters. She has composed songs for many other singers -Avril Lavigne, The Veronicas, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani...- and is possessed of a brilliant career. We have chosen GREEN APPLES from their incredible, unbeatable and excellent debut album "Under These Rocks and Stones" (1996). Although we could have chosen any song from any of the five albums that have published because She has a sublime repertoire. Hope you like it.

LYRICS

You’re toast and jam
And you’re cotton candy
You’re double rainbows
Beside a setting sun
You’re wood burnin’ outside
There’s a fire growin’
You’re sweet as green apples
You must be the one

You bring me to the heart of a golden man
You bring me to the natural truth
You take me to a solid hollow
And keep me sailing this ocean of youth

So take me to an altar of diamonds
And run with me through sheets of jungle rain
Show me all your manly mystery
And let me heal your beautiful pain

Be my island
In crowds of faces
My oasis
Be there

Lead me to the holy water
Introduce me to the place you are from
Wherever you go you know I will follow
So take me there and I will come
